Fortis gets into the M-LOK game

Fortis Manufacturing was one of the first manufacturers to ship a free float KeyMod rail. The Fortis REV was revolutionary when it was released and is still one of the coolest looking and lightest Keymod rail systems. Fortis has started shipping an M-LOK version of their REV II rail in 12″ and 14″ versions.

The Fortis REV II is made from 6061-T6 aluminum. The 14.8″ REV II rail weights just 9.8 ounces and the 12″ rail weights a mere 8.1 ounces. Just because these rails are ultra light, it doesn’t mean they are light on features. Both rails include a full length, continuous picatinny top rail and M-LOK at 3, 6 and 9 o’clock. The rail clamps down onto standard AR-15 barrel nuts, so this is a quick drop in replacement for the standard mil spec hand guards. There are four rotation limited QD sockets located at the front and back of the rail on either side.

We have tested and continue to run the original Fortis REV KeyMod rail on one of our AR-15s. The machining and finish on this rail is top notch and there is no reason to expect that the Fortis REVII will be any different. Fortis’ design is a very polarizing design. It seems that people either love or hate the looks of this design. Either way, there is no debating that the Fortis REV rails are a top notch piece of equipment with the features and weight that make them a solid choice for your next AR build!
